There are two steps to recover WhatsApp chats, first is Recover recent messages in which you’ll know that how to recover recently deleted messages and second steps is to recover old WhatsApp chat.
1.Recover Recent Messages
WhatsApp creates a backup of your files at 4 AM daily, this information is new to most of the peoples, but this is true WhatsApp creates the backup which helps to recover recent messages.
To recover Recent messages, users have to uninstall WhatsApp messenger and install it again.After installing WhatsApp again, WhatsApp will ask you to restore previous chat.Click on the restore button and you’re done.
You can check the previous messages in the conversation.
2.Recover old messages
TheSecond method is not easy as the first method, but with this method you can restore old messages more than 7 days old messages.
1.Go to file manager or if your phone doesn’t have file manager then, download it from here. File Manager
2.Go to File manager>>SD card>>WhatsApp>>Databases
3.Now you’ll see few files in the database folder.See below in the screenshot.
4.Now change the name of the file to msgstore.db.crypt.
Example: msgstore-2015-06-29.1.db.crypt covert into msgstore.db.crypt.
5.Uninstall the WhatsApp and install it again and select the restore option.Read the first method.
